Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
This is a request for you to pray for me, specifically for healing.
I don't normally make such personal requests, but I really need your prayers, and I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by asking.
I will not give details on the state of my health, as I don't discuss that with anyone but my medical professionals. There are several reasons for keeping quiet about my medical issues. I am a very private person, and especially would not want to publish sensitive private information on the Internet.
I have also learned, the hard way, over the years, that it does not help me to talk to people (even friends and family), about my health issues. Though they usually mean well, the minute they hear about any particular symptoms, they start making unwarranted assumptions, and even offering unsolicited amateur “medical” advice. And I certainly don't want my personal health issues discussed with anyone I have not directly told, which unfortunately has also happened.
Then, there is the fact that for all my adult life, I have used mostly alternative medicine, such as naturopathic/homeopathic and chiropractic. I try to avoid the use of drugs, unless absolutely necessary, and also invasive procedures like surgery, unless in acute cases of necessity.
Currently, I am under the care of a naturopathic physician and a chiropractor. They are not covered under Medicare, but fortunately a kind supporter has helped me with the bills.
I have also had to visit the hospital emergency room several times recently, for very distressing acute symptoms. I am working on finding other specialists to get the additional care I may need.
Now, about the prayers. When I ask someone to pray for me, I tell the person: Please pray for healing for me. Don't be concerned about symptoms or diagnoses. Jesus knows who I am, just as he knows us all, and He knows exactly what is wrong, and how to fix it.
I know that prayer can work miracles. I have experienced them myself, and have seen miraculous results when I have prayed for others.
When I pray, especially for healing, I pray for known individuals, but I also pray for all my friends and family, for everyone at my church (known and unknown), for all my brothers and sisters in Christ (known and unknown), and for all those in need (known and unknown), who may have no one to pray for them.
Our Heavenly Father knows exactly who they are and what they need, and I pray they are helped, according to His will. I also ask the intercession and prayers of the Saints and Angels.
So I ask you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, reading this, to pray for me to the Lord our God, for the healing I need. Thank you, and may God richly bless you and your loved ones.
With Love in Christ,
Barbara Hartwell
