One of the most tragic occurrences that I have observed over the last decade is that the American people, due to lack of a sound belief system, have lost their way. Our teachers no longer teach right or wrong.

The lack of sound ethical and moral values has led to the breakdown of the Number One Unit in the world – the family. The family is the foundation and the backbone of any civilization.  However, it has fallen by the wayside with an inundation of unwed mothers, high divorce rates, illiteracy skyrocketing, financial stability disappearing and general godlessness. When it comes to the fabric of the U.S. we have hit rock bottom and started to dig.

Scripture asks, in Psalm 11:3, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

The answer is pray and rebuild. We need to pray without ceasing.  II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

The other thing we must do is rebuild. Rebuilding, I have found, starts with the face in the mirror. We must ask ourselves the hard questions. Am I contributing to the problem or the solution with my lifestyle? Am I a good role model for others to follow or am I exhibiting behaviors that help breakdown the fabric of the family? Am I teaching my children to be ethical and moral or is the television teaching them?

We must then look at those in our household. Are we operating as a unit or is each person in their own room watching television or playing video games? Do we have family dinner together or at least talk for more than five minutes a day? Do I as a parent impart good morals and values to my children – do I practice what I preach? Am I home being a parent or am I out pursuing my own goals?

Next, we must look at our communities. Do we talk with our neighbors? Do we go to church and fellowship with others? Do we exhibit a spirit of excellence on or jobs? Are we involved in community efforts to improve our county, city, state?

One of the things I took a great amount of time doing was figuring out what I believe. My belief system is part of my worldview, part of who I am and who I reflect to others. It is important for us to know what we believe. I have asked several people over the years what they believe about various subjects such as religion, politics, child rearing, earning a living and world events.

Many of these people had no clue what they believed, although they were able to parrot what the evening news anchor said about some of the subjects. This is sad and needs to change. I have written up some of my beliefs. These are the beliefs that make me who I am. These are some of the beliefs that kept me through three years of prison. These are the beliefs that will keep me throughout my life.

You have beliefs. Write them, review them, defend them, teach them, and convey them. We can rebuild from the inside out when we have a foundation to stand on. Let’s stop being wishy washy and take a stand. Don’t be afraid. Everyone won’t agree with you, but that’s what makes us great. We can agree to disagree, but at least you will be moving forward to a better self and a better nation. Go ahead; let me see what you can do!

Make an effort to improve yourself by spending time thinking about what you want from life from this day forward. It starts with your belief system. Turn off the television and the video games. Sit down with your family and close friends and discuss ways to improve, rebuild.

Talk with co-workers, church members and neighbors and devise plans to start businesses, cooperatives, study groups, organic farms, disaster survival plans, and home schools. With each family, then community, committing to the effort, we can get our country to the point of integrity, sustainability and prosperity. It starts with you, not the people over there! Do it now!

It's National Animal Shelter (and Rescue!) Appreciation Week!

 

 

 

 

This notice, and accompanying video, come from The Humane Society of the United States.

For many years, I have been an advocate and activist not only for human rights, but also for animal rights. I've been involved in animal rescue and rehabilitation (both wildlife and domestic animals). Helping animals is one of my passions!

 

One of the most heartbreaking things for me is to know that there are millions of animals who have been abandoned and/or mistreated, who end up homeless, languishing in shelters, and in many cases "euthanized" simply because there isn't enough room. This doesn't happen in "no-kill" shelters, but still, a cage in a shelter is no substitute for a real home.

 

Irresponsible and callous people fail to spay and neuter their animals and the puppies and kittens end up homeless, either dumped off at a shelter, or roaming the streets, with only a few of the more fortunate ones eventually being  adopted into a secure and loving home.

Telephone Harassment by CAPITAL MANAGEMENT 800*463*9293

This morning I received yet another harassing telephone call from this number: 800-463-9293, which belongs to a collection agency called Capital Management.

The aggressors making these calls have been disturbing my peace and invading my privacy for many months. They never left a message on the machine, never identified themselves, just kept calling, day in and day out.

Not recognizing the number as an authorized caller, I ignored the first few calls, months ago, and just didn't pick up the phone. When the calls continued, I checked the number on my caller ID, and I called back.  I stated that someone from this number was making unauthorized, unwanted calls to a PRIVATE UNLISTED number and issued a very clear directive for them to STOP calling.

The woman who answered my call asked me for my name. I told her that my name was none of her business and made it clear to her that whoever they were, they had no business with me; that the calls were harassment and must stop immediately. You have the WRONG NUMBER.

"But you don't even know who we're calling for!", she said.  That's right, I told her. I don't know and what's more, I don't care who you are calling for.  In fact, I don't give a tinker's damn you you are calling for!  

The ONLY issue is that you people have NO BUSINESS with me, whose PRIVATE UNLISTED number you keep calling, and I am directing you to stop  the  harassing calls.  I then told her, I am going to hang up now, this conversation is terminated, and don't call this number again. Unbelievably, she said, "Well, I'll just try back tomorrow".  I repeated: DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER EVER AGAIN, and I ended the call. 

Un-f---ing believable! What the hell!

The harassing calls continued.  At the times I was in the room where the answering machine is, when I saw the number come up on the caller ID  (800-463-9293), I picked up the phone, just hit the answer button and then immediately clicked off, ending the call, nipping these bastards in the bud.  Other times, I would come home and see the number on the call log, but the harassers never left a message.

Today, at just after 8AM, my peaceful morning was disrupted by another harassing call. The machine was off, but I saw the number of these scumbags on the caller ID.  So (once again) I called back.  A woman answered the phone, with "Hello".  I stated (once again) that I continue to receive harassing calls from this number, despite the fact that I had directed them to stop.  I told her (once again) that whoever you are, you are making harassing calls to a PRIVATE UNLISTED number, to a person who has NO BUSINESS with you. You have the WRONG NUMBER.

The woman then said that she would hang up if I "kept yelling" at her. Now, I was at the blood-boiling point. Listen, you moron, STOP HARASSING ME. NOW. Do not call this number ever again. You have no right to harass me and you have NO BUSINESS with me!

The idiot then hung up the phone. So I called back. This time, she answered, "Capital Management", in a chirpy idiotic secretary's voice.  So that's who you are, I said. Capital Management. Now at least I know WHO is making these harassing calls. She then said, "If you keep screaming at me, and being abusive, I'll just hang up again, but I'll need your telephone number so I can take it off the list ."

You idiot! Abusive? You haven't seen abusive, you low grade moron.  You people are the ones harassing me, and you have a hell of a nerve to tell me that you will hang up the phone, when all I am trying to do is get you off my case and stop the harassment!

I gave the moron the telephone number, and said TAKE THIS NUMBER OFF YOUR DAMN LIST!   I told her that if I receive even one more harassing call after today I will report it to the police as  continuing harassment.

"Ma'am, Ma'am, wait... I need to get your name..." she whined.  No, you won't be getting any such thing. You have the number, now take it OFF your damn list. NOW. And I hung up the phone.

Who the hell do these scumbags think they are?

I looked them up online, along with their telephone number. I found out that they are a company called Capital Management.

In my online search (surprise, surprise!) I found that I was only one among many people being harassed by these collection agency scumbags. In fact, they are notorious for their harassment tactics.

In 2006, this company contacted me regarding a debt that was not mine. They used intimidation and threatening phone messages about my credit in an effort to obtain a return call.

I was finally able to speak with a supervisor. I was assured this situation was a mistake. My name and contact information would be documented so I would not receive a call again.

At that time, I gave the supervisor all information related to the debtor in question. This included the false use of my name on a credit application and the use of his social security information to avoid idenity theft. I even gave them the last known state and city location.

On December 17, 2007, I received a phone call from a Mr. Forke from Capital Management regarding my credit with Chase Bank. When I returned the call, Capital Management, of course, had the wrong individual again. I was told that this situation should not be upsetting if I do not have credit issues.

They also identified themselves as working for Chase Bank as a representative of the company. I asked specifically if Capital management purchased the debt or was working in conjunction with Chase. I was told Capital Management was working with Chase.

I contacted Chase to resolve the matter with them as I am a credit card member. I was told that Capital Management has no affiliation what so ever with Chase.

It appears that Capital Management uses misrepresentation as another harassment technique.

On Friday, December 21, I received a voice mail at my place of employment from the very same Mr. Forke.

It is obvious that Capital Management has assigned this debt to an agent again. It is also clear that any past documentation associated with the situation has been removed.

Being a very complex individual, the agent went to the internet and found my name and phone numbers. Clearly a genius at work.

Capital Management does not care who they harass.

Capital Management does not document any information that could help them locate the correct debtor.

Capital Management simply uses any and every available resource and harrasses every person with the same name along the way.

I understand that debtors need to be held accountable.

However, Capital Management must also be held accountable for unscrupulous tactics.

Your aggressive collection of "receivables", as you scavengers call them, by tactics of harassment, deception, invasions of privacy, threats and coercion,  have absolutely nothing to do with me.

I do not use credit cards.  I have no "credit rating" because I do not use credit. Nor do I ever contract for the purchase of goods or services which I cannot pay for.  And that is the ONLY information you will ever get from me. It is information I have already made public for many years on this website, so I don't care who knows it.  I advise you to take it seriously, though, because I will not tolerate your continuing  harassment.

I was outraged, reading some of the many complaints about you in the reports all over the Internet, exposing you for the busybodies, liars, swindlers and scamsters you are.

My next step will be to track down your names and expose them as well. I will also file formal complaints with the Attorney General in the states of New York and Maine.

And, just for good measure, I will report your company, Capital Management, to the local police for harassment, which at least will stop the aggressive harassing calls.

You have been warned. You have now been directed in this public statement to STOP THE HARASSMENT OF BARBARA HARTWELL.

I state for the public record that I encourage anyone reading this who has also been a target of your malicious harassment and invasions of privacy to make a formal complaint against you; to document and publish their testimony against you.

Before getting to the subject of this report, the Occupy Wall Street movement, let's get one thing straight: The U.S. of A. is NOT a democracy.  It has never been a democracy. This nation was founded as a Constitutional Republic. The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.
 

The Rights of  "We the People" are not the "rights" of a collectivist mob, but rather those of the Individual. Each and every Individual, that is, one by one by one.... 

And lest anyone forget, these Rights are NOT "issued" by any government, but rather are God-given (natural, inherent) and therefore unalienable. These Rights are also protected and guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.

Under the Constitution, there is only the Rule of Law, NOT mob rule (democracy, socialism, communism, or any other "isms" you care to name.)

That is all anyone who is concerned with Truth, with defending Liberty and Individual God-given Rights needs to know in order to pin down exactly what is wrong with the Occupy Wall Street movement.

I find it disturbing that so many Americans have fallen for this behemoth  scam.  OWS is not a "grassroots" movement, as they claim, but rather a globalist plot hatched --and funded-- by the very movers and shakers of the NWO. And it did not "spontaneously" arise, but was planned long ago by some of the very elitists the OWS claims to be "opposing".

For those who fail to see this glaringly obvious truth, just take a hard look at some of those who are supporting/promoting this 'Occupy' movement (at least those in plain view) and the slogans they are using (some straight out of the Communist Manifesto!) 

If this doesn't tell you what the diabolical agenda is, nothing will:  Subverting the sovereignty of this nation; trashing the Constitution; stealing the private property of Individuals ("redistribution"); trampling Individual Rights and Liberties, and allowing a mob of radical leftists to invade every aspect of our lives, to tear down our borders, to enslave the rest of us under Globalist Totalitarianism, otherwise known as the New World Order.

OWS is controlled opposition, plain and simple.  And the so-called "99%", many of whom have been duped into falsely believing they are standing for "freedom" and "justice", will fall into line as mere pawns of the so-called "1%", just, as history proves, they always do.

There are only two genders, as far as I know, unless you count the transsexuals, but even in that case, there could only be an additional three: A) going from a woman to a man; B) going from a man to a woman; C) hermaphrodites. That is a total of five "genders", assuming they can be acknowledged as such, which I certainly do not believe to be factual or accurate. But what "gender" or "color" someone is should never be the point. The INDIVIDUAL can be anyone, but all have the same rights.

As happens from time to time, the hard drive on my computer was corrupted and had to be replaced. Fortunately, due to warning signs, I got the machine into the shop just in the nick of time, before a total crash.  Unfortunately, I lost a number of files, including all my stored e-mail files between 2010-2011, and my address book was also wiped out.

 

For security reasons, I had to change my e-mail address (which is always private). So for those of my regular contacts who are reading this, please do NOT send me e-mail at the old address. I will NOT receive it, but you will NOT receive notice of same.

 

To reconstruct my address book, I will look up as many e-mail addresses as I can (at least those which are available on the Internet), but I will NOT have access to any private e-mail addresses which have been given to me.

 

If you have sent me e-mail from Thursday, October 13 to today, I will NOT have received it. If you have sent me messages (documents, etc.) which you deem to be important, at any time during 2010 or 2011, they have been wiped out and will need to be resent, if possible.

Open Letter of Protest to Mr. Ronald Peaker of Biddeford, Maine

 

Mr. Peaker:

 

For the past several weeks, I have been receiving harassing telephone calls from you at my PRIVATE UNLISTED telephone number. Which, by the way, I PAY to keep PRIVATE and UNLISTED.

 

I don't ever pick up the phone unless I know who the caller is, and unless that individual is an AUTHORIZED caller. Which means: I have personally furnished my telephone number with permission to contact me via that number.

 

I have NOT furnished my telephone number for your use, Mr. Peaker, and you have absolutely no right to be making these calls, which disturb my peace and my "quiet enjoyment" of my PRIVATE home.

 

When I play back the harassing messages you keep leaving on my answering machine, Mr. Peaker, they are pre-recorded pitches pushing your agenda to build a "racino", meaning, as I understand it, a combination race track and casino.  

 

FYI, I don't gamble, Mr. Peaker. Nor do I support the exploitation of animals for human entertainment and greed.

 

And the last thing I want in the general area where I live is an invasion of degenerate gamblers, mobsters, criminals and hookers. So no, I won't support your sleazy enterprise, Mr. Peaker. So, STOP THE HARASSING CALLS.

 

Now, you may be wondering, Mr. Peaker, why I would take the trouble to write you this letter and post it on my website. It's because apparently, there is no other way to get your attention. 

 

When I tried to get you to stop these harassing calls, I could not get through to the number on my caller ID: 207-391- 7223. 

 

Each time I called this number, all I got was an obnoxious recorded female voice announcing that calls cannot be received at this number.

 

Next, I looked up your name on the Internet, in search of a telephone number where you could be reached, but found nothing.  I then called 411 and asked the operator for your telephone number. I was told your number is "unlisted". 

 

Well, guess what, Mr. Peaker? As I've already mentioned, my number is also UNLISTED.

 

So, I guess you think it's fine and dandy to harass strangers at their UNLISTED, PRIVATE numbers, but you yourself cannot be contacted and directed to STOP THE HARASSMENT.

 

You know, Mr. Peaker, I probably wouldn't have bothered to publicly address this issue about the racino, if not for your harassing telephone calls. But now I view it as an opportunity to express my extreme displeasure and outrage against your aggression --not only your harassing telephone calls, but also the purpose of these calls --which I now inform you, have backfired.

 

I have now decided to take a stand with Citizens Against a Bad Deal. Those, who like myself, enjoy peace and quiet and the preservation of what is left of our way of life here in Maine: The Way Life Should Be.

 

We don't need no stinkin' racino!

Hi Everyone,

I finally got the September newsletter out. I am learning the new technology, and thanks to my Web guy, I am making progress.

I wanted to thank those who attempted to put a “Welcome Home” party together for me. Although I wanted to have the party, it may have been my undoing. I am still on supervised release and I have to be careful. (This is where you must read between the lines.) I plan to have a party in August 2012.

This month I want to talk about a sad subject – The Prison System.

Most Americans have been taught to think that everyone in prison is guilty of something. I have met many people, before and during prison, that are adamant that anyone in a jail or prison cell “must have done something wrong”. Nothing could be further from the truth. In my experience, filtering out the obvious liars, at least 20% of the women that I talked to in prison were innocent, and at least another 10% were guilty of something, but the sentence didn’t fit the “crime”.

You may shrug your shoulders and think, “well, I’m Okay. I would never do anything to get put in the slammer.” In reality, you don’t have to do anything to be sentence to prison.

Here are a few stories of people I actually know. Names have been changed, but not the circumstances.

Peggy Smith is a 64-year-old grandmother. She loved her family and did everything she could to make them comfortable. Peggy’s 22-year-old grandson went from job to job and got in trouble from time to time. He would call Peggy and ask to borrow her car sometimes. He would say that either he had a job interview or that he needed to get to work. Peggy let him use her car often since she wasn’t driving as much anymore. One day the police showed up at Peggy’s door. She was 51 at the time. They said that her car had been used in drug deals. They asked her questions about her car and her grandson. She admitted that the car belonged to her, but she said she didn’t know anything about her grandson dealing in drugs. Peggy was asked to testify against her grandson and she wouldn’t. Peggy was tried and sentenced to 15 years in prison, just for letting her grandson borrow her car. Now she is suffering from dementia. She will be released soon.

Jamie Nevis is a 55-year-old professional. She has a Masters degree and a PhD. For years she worked very hard in her government job, traveling around the state giving lectures on the subjects in her field, and managing a small staff. One day Jamie got a visit from government agents. Apparently, state funds had been embezzled from the grant that she managed. She told them that she knew nothing about it. The agents told her that they knew that it was her assistant that embezzled the money through a dummy corporation, but she should have known about it and was thus, just as guilty. Jamie refused to take any blame for her assistant’s actions. She even proved that her assistant forged her signature on several checks. The agents told her that they wanted her to plea to conspiring with her assistant, and that she would serve a 9 month sentence. Jamie refused to plea, stating that she was innocent. After $250,000 in legal fees, lawyers that threw her under the bus and government expert witnesses that were caught in lies on the stand, Jamie was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 7 years in prison! The assistant didn’t serve any time because this woman was used to testify against Jamie, stating that Jamie knew that she was signing checks in her name. Jamie is due to be released in 2015.

Joan Cercal worked at an insurance company. She was the supervisor over the mail department and the janitorial staff. Joan’s bosses were being investigated by the Feds for insurance fraud. She was questioned, and for a while nothing came of it. Then, to her surprise, she was indicted along with the officers and several other employees. When she asked why she was indicted the answer was, “because you are a supervisor and you should have known that fraud was taking place in this company.” Joan received a 5 year sentence.

Lisa Brock ran an investment firm. She had certifications in two different countries and was approved by the various regulators. One day someone decided that Lisa’s company was no longer acceptable. (Maybe not enough people were losing money.) She was indicted for conspiracy and money laundering. She told the government that she would never plead guilty because she had all the proper regulations and certifications, and her company was totally legal. She was told that if she didn’t take the plea her sister would be indicted also, and there would be nobody left to care for her invalid mother. Lisa took the plea and received a 5 year sentence. Her sister is there to take care of her mother, who comes to visit at least once a month. Lisa is due to be released in 2014. In addition, her company was never shut down. It is now being run by someone with government ties!

These are but a few of the stories of women that did nothing wrong but were caught up in a corrupt system of people wanting the “big fish” for promotions. Many, after winning several large cases, receive promotions and monetary rewards.

Most people have also been told that to feed and house each prisoner costs the “taxpayers” $36,000 per year, or some similar figure. I am here to tell you that you need to clear your mind of visions of inmates walking around with new clothes, shoes, and electronic equipment, eating steak on your dime. The bulk of that money goes to companies that contract with the prison system and received large amounts of money for substandard products. Here’s how it goes:

A prison or group of prisons buys products in bulk. The price you would pay for that widget may be $5 each, but the prison contract says they will pay $9 for the same or a lesser quality item. These items are then shipped to the prisons for the prisoners to use.

The prisoners themselves have a chance to buy items at what’s called commissary. These items are often not name brands, but cost much more. For example, a jar of Royal Crown hair oil that costs $1.00 in the store cost me $5.62 in one of the facilities in which I was housed. Also, sweat suites costs $40 when I could have grabbed one at Wal-Mart for $15. The commissary at the prison complex in which I was housed was reported to have grossed $9,000,000 a year.

In addition, the food is not of a quality that you would eat. Much of the food is often donated. I can’t tell you the number of times I saw molded bread on my plate and on other’s plates. And oranges that looked like they had the mange. Companies must get a tax write off for donating food to the prisons.

Now there are even private prisons out there. I spent a few months in a detention center that was actually run by a company called the GEO Group, Inc. When I had my good friend, the late Fred Marshall Jr. look it up, turns out they also ran Guantanamo Bay!

Prison is an industry, one of the largest and most powerful in the country. There are millions profiting from the women I mentioned earlier in the letter. There are thousands of jobs depending on those same women and many other men and women spending years away from their families under extremely debilitating and humiliation conditions. There are unions within the prison system that relentlessly fight against every effort on the part of families and advocacy groups to reduce the sentences of non-violent offenders and implement early release programs. They call it job security.

The problem as I see it is that people are generally apathetic when it comes to prisons. However, now that the United States has more prisoners in federal and state prisons than ALL other countries combined, maybe somebody will wake up and notice that it’s not about punishment or rehabilitation, it’s about MONEY!

I pray that this little glimpse into the prison industry awakens your mind to understand that it could be you; it could be your child or your grandchild, anytime, anywhere. Greed doesn’t discriminate.

Finally, while sitting in a prison bed one day, this train of thought came to mind:

Many, in and out of government, have been fighting the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms for years. Groups like the NRA have fought for Americans to keep these rights. Now, there is a back door hanging wide open to take away those rights for good! When a person is made a felon they are supposedly no longer allowed to own or possess a gun/firearm. This new felon can’t even live in a house that contains a gun.

Well, if they produce a felon in every household, which is what’s happening now from the gardener to the grandmother, then no one will be able to own or possess a “firearm”, or have one in any household, thus wiping out the Second Amendment without passing any new law. Pause and think about that!
